delicious : new stuff (and it’s cool), but it makes me mad! :(
It’s about time! We’ve heard about the new and improved delicious 2.0 for how long now? Here is a post from TechCrunch in January which said we’ve already waited 4 months…
The Good:
As I looked it over today I can really say they have done a great job of UI improvements. A nice use of some subtle color, renaming a few things to make it more clear and some date sorting…makes things look nice.
The Bad:
But what makes me mad is I saw a link a few months back that was asking to help beta test 2.0. So I signed up – because I really like del.icio.us, I have about 1000 bookmarks. Not just crap, I really reference them a lot.
But I didn;t appriciate was when I signed-up, instead of emailing me when a beta was ready…they took the cheap way out and said “keep checking back, we’ll put a beta invite into yor “shared” bookmarks area. That never happened. I would like to know if anyone got a link that way.
Conclusion:
Even though I’m pissy about how it all went down. This is a good upgrade. Take a peek, see what you think. Just remember the key to delicious – the Firefox extension…it’s a must have. And don;t even think about telling me IE has one too – it stinks. It needs to integrate – adding a whole line to the toolbar is not cool!
