YSlow killed my Firefox!

Mozilla Firefox Icon

It struck on Friday and then again Monday.  I would get to the third letter of typing in the search bar and poof – Mozilla Crash.  Then today – my co-workers Erin had issues too.  We figured out today it was YSlow – a Firefox extension to help determin page load speed.

So – if you recently have had Friefox start crashing on you when you try to search.  Uninstall YSlow and see if it helps.

This is a cool idea – I just installed it…we’ll see how it goes. (http://lifehacker.com/5121467/display-your-unread-message-count-in-the-gmail-favicon)  It puts your inbox unread items in the tab’s icon.

Firefox with Greasemonkey: The Gmail Unread Message Count in Favicon Greasemonkey user script displays your unread message count on the Gmail site favicon.

Open up and think big.

I really don’t try to be a Seth Godin fanboy – but his feed is in my Google Reader everyday and it seems like I always like what he’s putting down.

He’s posted today talking about thinking bigger and it really is a great thought.

The bigger point is that none of us are doing enough to challenge the assignment. Every day, I spend at least an hour of my time looking at my work and what I’ve chosen to do next and wonder, “is this big enough?”

It is so true.  I think we get tied down in the day to day and end up acting more like Henry Frod’s production line than trying to grow and build on what we did the day before.

I’m not sure if we have too much to do, waste too much time doing mundane things or just need to figure out what “product” each one of us needs to really focus on…but I have a feeling if we thought about what we wanted to do really, really well – then we could make that thing a bit bigger the next time.

Yea, more zemanta features.

I really like this toll/app zemanta. And now they’ve added more features. Nice work guys.

If you haven;t heard of it yet – it is a plug in for Firefox which, while you are writing your blog post, will suggest pictures, links and keywords for you to include.

It really takes a lot of the dirty work off your hands when posting!

Thanks zemanta team!

Oh  yea – and how did I find out about the update.  Twitter.  So as soon as they had it working, I knew about it.

And how long did it take to install – 0 seconds.  Why, because it’s a service.  I just opened WordPress and blammo, ready to roll.

Yea, ask me again why I love software as a service…hmmm.  LOVE IT!
